From YouTube scripts to journalism
Having spent years experimenting with YouTube content, Ratmir was already familiar with researching subjects, organizing information, and presenting ideas in a way that held an audience’s attention.
In 2024, he decided to apply those skills to written content, working with several Bulgarian and international news outlets. One project involved helping launch and develop the local publication Красиво Габрово, part of the Красиво Ветрино / Красива България brand.
Working under an agreement to help get the local page off the ground, Ratmir and his team produced approximately five articles over a couple of months, two of which were published under his name. Although the project was relatively short, it gave them an opportunity to explore a different side of digital media: producing written content that could attract readers through search engines as well as social media.

A featured snippet in Google Search
Among the team’s articles, one achievement stood out in particular. The team produced an article about the United States’ national debt, a subject that attracts substantial public interest and is covered by numerous established publications.
Rather than approaching the article as a collection of facts, the team focused on researching the topic and organizing the information in a way that would make sense to a reader. The results stood out against the publication’s usual performance. While its regular posts typically attracted between 20 and 100 views, the article accumulated thousands.
More notably, the article appeared in Google’s featured snippet for a relevant search query, placing it in the highlighted answer section above the standard search results.

For Ratmir and the team, this was particularly rewarding. The subject was not obscure or without competition; it was a widely discussed economic issue covered by numerous publications. Yet the article earned prominent visibility in Google Search and continued attracting readers long after publication.
The experience demonstrated the potential of combining well-researched writing with thoughtful content structure. It also showed how an article could reach audiences beyond those already following a publication’s social media pages.
A reader-first approach to writing
The team’s approach to the article was straightforward: research the subject thoroughly and structure the information in a way that would make sense to the person reading it.
This reflected a principle Ratmir had already encountered through YouTube scripting. Regardless of the format, content needs to communicate its message clearly and give the audience a reason to engage.
While video scripts and written articles differ in their presentation, both require an understanding of the audience, a logical progression of ideas, and the ability to make information accessible. The experience also introduced Ratmir and the team to the practical relationship between content structure and search visibility. An article needed to do more than communicate information; it also needed to present that information in a way readers could easily navigate and search engines could understand.
The team’s work with Красиво Габрово provided an opportunity to apply these principles in a real publishing environment and observe the results.
A useful lesson: Well-researched content can reach beyond a publication’s existing audience when it is structured around readers and easy to find.
Moving beyond journalism
The team’s time working on written journalism lasted only a couple of months. After establishing a foundation in the discipline and seeing what the work could achieve, Ratmir decided not to pursue journalism as a long-term career.
The decision was not a rejection of journalism. Rather, the project had accomplished what Ratmir set out to do: explore another skill and understand how written content could contribute to a broader digital media strategy.
Today, Ratmir’s primary focus is developing media presences for other creators and projects. This involves understanding not only how content is produced, but also the different skills required to build and manage an effective media operation. His experience with scripting, written journalism, audience development, and search visibility provides a practical foundation for recognizing the people best suited to different roles within a media team.
His time in journalism was brief, but it provided another perspective on content production — one that continues to inform how he approaches media presence development today.
